The Learning Curve diary planner series and website were created and written by an experienced teacher to support and encourage colleagues to be reflective on their professional practice and then provide the resources to act on their reflections.

Following are guides to assist both classroom and Home/Form teachers and an array of downloadable resources at the bottom of the page that will benefit teaching and learning. There are also specific pages from each of the diary planners that you can downloaded from the Students pageshould they be required.

Schools in the 21st century are becoming increasingly busy and the expectations on our teaching and support staff very challenging; the Learning Curve has the proven capacity to support and enhance 'the way we do things around here'.

The key aims of the Learning Curve are to relieve pressure on school staff by providing:

  • An operational platform that supports teachers to reduce their workload, by enabling a whole school approach to working smarter through the use of shared practices in all classes; also reducing variation in student learning and attitudes between classrooms
  • A vast array of resources for teachers to develop students’ qualities as independent learners by linking, thinking and learning, which in turn will optimise teaching effectiveness in all classrooms across the school
  • Regular and easy to use communication tools and practices for all teachers that build healthy and trusting learning partnerships with parents.

Many of the strategies to benefit teaching and learning are best introduced and implemented during timetabled classes, in Home/Form groups or in whole year level sessions. The class time 'lost' will be more than compensated for by the creation of a more conducive teaching and learning environment.
